Judge Beryl Howell has criticized Giuliani for his repeated failure to comply with discovery obligations and his last-minute attempt to switch from a jury trial to a bench trial.
Freeman and Moss are seeking damages ranging from $15.5 million to $43 million for the severe emotional distress caused by Giuliani's false claims.
Judge Howell has already found Giuliani “civilly liable on plaintiffs’ defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, civil conspiracy, and punitive damage claims” due to his “willful discovery misconduct”.
