Russia banned from 2023 UEFA Under-17 European Championship due to continued sanctions over Ukraine invasion

Russia will not participate in Under-17 qualifiers this month after UEFA reversed initial decision to allow them.
Russian teams have been banned from UEFA/FIFA events since February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine.
Ukraine football association urged nations to boycott matches against Russia.
Several nations including England, Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway have said they will continue to not compete against Russia.
The ban comes as continued sanctions against Russia over its ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
