Facepunch Studios is also working on performance and quality-of-life improvements, and a new Nexus system to allow players to smoothly transition between servers.
Despite previous plans, pets will not be introduced to Rust this year due to several obstacles that need to be overcome.
Rust has sold 16 million copies in its ten years, with a peak concurrent player count of 244,000 and over 124,000 items produced by the modding community.
