Samsung Launches 9100 Pro SSD, the Fastest Consumer Drive Yet

The new PCIe Gen 5 SSD offers record-breaking speeds, increased storage capacities, and improved power efficiency for demanding users.

The Samsung 9100 Pro SSD achieves sequential read speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s and write speeds of up to 13,400 MB/s, making it the fastest consumer SSD on the market.
Available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB configurations starting March 2025, with an 8TB model, Samsung's first at this capacity, slated for release later in the year.
Built on Samsung's TLC V8 V-NAND flash and a custom 5nm controller, the drive improves power efficiency by up to 49% compared to its predecessor, the 990 Pro.
The SSD is designed for professional creators, gamers, and AI workloads, with enhanced heat management and optional heatsink models for thermal control.
Pricing starts at $199.99 for the 1TB model, with higher capacities priced up to $549.99 for the 4TB variant; heatsink versions add $20 to the cost.
