San Diego Officer Killed, Partner Critical After High-Speed Pursuit Crash

A police pursuit ended tragically with the deaths of an officer and the suspect, and left another officer fighting for his life.

Officer Austin Machitar, a 30-year-old father of four, was killed in the crash.
Officer Zachary Martinez, 27, remains in critical condition after being ejected from the vehicle.
