• The 45-foot steel figure R-Evolution, modeled on performer Deja Solis, is the third and final piece in Marco Cochrane’s Bliss Project.
• The 32,000-pound sculpture features built-in electronics that make its chest “breathe” daily between 5 and 6 pm.
• Opponents contend the installation bypassed public review, blocks views of the Ferry Building and overlooks city infrastructure priorities.
• Funded by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department in collaboration with the Sijbrandij Foundation and Building180, the sculpture is slated to remain through October 2025.
