Desjarlais was wanted for the robbery of two businesses and a home.
RCMP officers engaged in a high-speed chase with Desjarlais, who was driving a stolen van from a school on Fishing Lake First Nation.
Desjarlais was found dead inside the van after officers fired shots to stop the vehicle.
The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team is reviewing the RCMP's actions and Desjarlais's death.
