Saxony's Environment Minister Wolfram Günther announced significant progress in renewable energy expansion, citing a rise in wind and solar projects.
In the first half of 2024, 16 new wind energy projects were approved, with 139 additional projects currently under review.

Saxony has surpassed its previous year's solar capacity, with 727 megawatts of new photovoltaic installations in the first half of 2024.
