Search Continues for Missing Norwich Mother Gaynor Lord

Police believe 'high probability' she entered the River Wensum after leaving work early and hurrying through city centre.

  • Gaynor Lord, a 55-year-old mother of three, has been missing since Friday, December 8, 2023, after she was seen leaving her job at Jarrolds department store in Norwich city centre early.
  • CCTV footage shows Ms. Lord hurrying through the city centre, at one point nearly being hit by a car, and visiting Norwich Cathedral before her last sighting on St Augustines Street at 4:01pm.
  • Her belongings, including her mobile phone, glasses, jewellery, and clothing, were later found scattered across Wensum Park, with her coat discovered in the River Wensum.
  • Police have stated there is a 'high probability' that Ms. Lord entered the water and have deployed specialist underwater search teams to scour the river.
  • While police have stated her behaviour that day was 'out of character', they have not yet been able to explain why she left work early and are appealing to the public for any information.
