Search Intensifies for Missing University of Pittsburgh Student in Dominican Republic

Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old pre-med student, disappeared during a spring break trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on March 6.
Joshua Riibe, a 22-year-old college student from Minnesota and the last person seen with Konanki, has been named a person of interest but not a suspect by authorities.
Riibe claims the pair were swept out to sea by a wave while in waist-deep water, and he brought her back to shore before losing sight of her.
Clothing believed to belong to Konanki, including a sarong and flip-flops, was found on a beach chair near the site of her disappearance, with no signs of tampering.
Dominican authorities, alongside U.S. agencies like the FBI, are conducting extensive search efforts by land, sea, and air while continuing to question Riibe, whose passport has been confiscated.
