Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student, vanished on March 6 during a spring break trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Konanki was last seen around 4:15 a.m. walking on the beach with a group; most returned to their hotel, but she stayed with one man who claims she was swept away by a wave during a swim.
Her father disputes the drowning theory, urging authorities to investigate possible abduction, citing the lack of evidence such as a body washing ashore.
The FBI, U.S. Embassy, Dominican National Police, and other agencies are collaborating on the investigation, with no suspects or arrests made so far.
Concerns about safety at the resort, including a power outage and insufficient warnings about ocean conditions, have been raised by other guests.
