Second Ice Fishing Fatality in Minnesota as Snow Bus Crashes Through Ice

Despite the ice being 12 inches thick, conditions have deteriorated recently, warns the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

A commercial snow bus crashed through ice during an ice fishing run in Lake of the Woods in northwestern Minnesota, resulting in one fatality.
The bus sank rear-end first through 12-inch-thick ice to the bottom of the lake.
The bus's driver reportedly helped rescue the other passengers.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources warned that ice conditions have deteriorated in recent days.
This is the second reported fatality in Minnesota this ice fishing season.
