Second Indian Ordnance Factory Employee Arrested for Espionage Linked to Pakistani ISI

Kumar Vikas, a junior works manager in Kanpur, was detained for leaking classified defense data through covert methods, following the earlier arrest of Ravindra Kumar.

Kumar Vikas, employed at the Kanpur Ordnance Factory, was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh ATS for sharing classified information with a Pakistani intelligence operative using the alias 'Neha Sharma.'
The suspected ISI agent posed as a Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) employee and initially contacted Vikas via Facebook before moving conversations to WhatsApp and the Ludo gaming app.
Vikas leaked sensitive documents, including ordnance manufacturing data, employee attendance records, machine layouts, and production charts, reportedly for financial incentives.
This arrest follows the March 13 detention of Ravindra Kumar, another ordnance factory employee, whose interrogation led authorities to uncover Vikas's involvement.
The case highlights ISI's long-term use of honey-trapping and social media platforms to target Indian defense personnel, raising concerns about security vulnerabilities in India's defense sector.
