US Secretary of State Marco Rubio looks on as US President Donald Trump meets with French President Emmanuel Macron in the Oval Office on February 24, 2025

Overview

  • Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, will visit Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from March 10-12 for discussions with Ukrainian officials aimed at advancing President Trump's goal of ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
  • Rubio will also meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to strengthen U.S.-Saudi relations and discuss regional cooperation.
  • The visit follows a suspension of U.S. aid to Ukraine after President Trump's February 28 meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where disagreements over a proposed minerals deal arose.
