Sega Named Metacritic’s Top Publisher of 2024, Dethroning Capcom

The Japanese publisher earned the top spot with critically acclaimed titles like Metaphor: ReFantazio, narrowly edging out Capcom in Metacritic's annual rankings.

Sega claimed the top position in Metacritic's 2024 Game Publisher Rankings with 325.5 points and an average Metascore of 82.9.
The publisher's standout titles included Metaphor: ReFantazio, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, all of which scored over 90.
Capcom, last year’s top publisher, came in second with 323.1 points, bolstered by strong releases like Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.
Aksys Games secured third place, while Sony and Focus Entertainment rounded out the top five publishers of the year.
Nintendo, typically a strong contender, ranked 22nd in 2024 due to lower-scoring releases, a significant drop from its 6th-place finish in 2023.
