Selina Freitag claimed the first medal for Germany at the Nordic Ski World Championships in Trondheim, Norway, with a silver in the individual normal hill event.
Freitag's jumps of 99 and 103.5 meters secured her second place, with Slovenian Nika Prevc taking gold and Norway's Eirin Maria Kvandal winning bronze.
This marks Freitag's first individual medal at a major championship, following her team and mixed-team golds at the 2023 World Championships in Planica.
Title defender Katharina Schmid finished in 19th place, while Agnes Reisch was the second-best German in 10th position.
The German team faced setbacks, including Luisa Görlich's knee injury during qualification, which forced her to withdraw from the competition.
