Senate to Hear From Former Silicon Valley, Signature Bank Execs and Regulators on Bank Failures

Former top officials from Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank will testify at a U.S. Senate Banking Committee hearing on May 16.
Top U.S. banking regulators, including Michael Barr and Martin Gruenberg, will testify at a separate hearing on May 18.
The panel will also hear from top regulators for the states of New York and California, which helped oversee the two failed firms.
On Monday, regulators closed a third firm, First Republic, which was then sold to JP Morgan Chase.
The hearings come as regulators review rules for firms with over $100 billion in assets.
