Sen. Dick Durbin has tested positive for COVID-19 for the third time in the past year.
Durbin, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, will miss votes this week on the NDAA defense funding bill.
The NDAA passed the House with controversial GOP amendments opposed by Democrats.
Durbin expressed disappointment at missing votes and will follow CDC guidelines while isolating and working from home.
COVID hospitalizations remain relatively low but CDC expects a winter increase in COVID, flu and RSV cases nationally.
