Senior Maoist Leader Sudhakar Killed in Chhattisgarh Encounter

Security forces neutralize three Maoists, including a top leader, in ongoing operations targeting insurgency strongholds in Bastar region.

Three Maoists, including Sudhakar, a senior member of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee, were killed in an encounter on the Dantewada-Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh on March 25, 2025.
Sudhakar, active in the Abhujmad region since 1999, carried a ₹25 lakh reward and was a key Maoist strategist in the Bastar region.
Weapons, explosives, and Maoist literature were recovered from the encounter site, highlighting the scale of insurgent operations in the area.
This operation is part of the Union government’s intensified campaign to eradicate Maoist insurgency by March 31, 2026, with over 100 Maoists killed in 2025 so far.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Chhattisgarh on March 30 to launch infrastructure projects and engage with communities affected by Maoist violence.
