Severe Turbulence Forces United Flight to Emergency Landing in Texas

Five passengers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after turbulence diverted a Houston-bound flight to Waco Regional Airport.

SkyWest flight 5690, operating as United Express, encountered turbulence en route from Springfield, Missouri, to Houston, Texas, on Sunday evening.
The plane, carrying 29 passengers and three crew members, made an emergency landing at Waco Regional Airport around 6:30 p.m. local time.
Five passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment; their conditions have not been updated.
Severe weather conditions, including storms in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, are believed to have contributed to the turbulence and flight diversions.
SkyWest and United Airlines arranged a replacement aircraft to transport the remaining passengers to Houston later that night.
