Six White Mississippi Officers Plead Guilty to Torturing and Assaulting Two Black Men

Six former white Mississippi law enforcement officers pleaded guilty to state and federal charges related to the assault and torture of two Black men.
The officers, known as the "Goon Squad," entered a home without a warrant, physically and sexually assaulted the victims for 90 minutes, and used racial slurs.
They shot one victim in the mouth and attempted to plant evidence to falsely charge the victims.
After one officer confessed, the others admitted to the conspiracy to obstruct justice through excessive force, assault, and filing false charges.
The officers face recommended state prison sentences ranging from 5 to 30 years, in addition to pending federal sentencing.
