South Bay Doctor Convicted of Illegally Prescribing Opioids to Law Enforcement Posing as Patients

South Bay physician Donald Siao was found guilty of 12 counts of distributing opioids without legitimate medical purpose.
Siao wrote more than 8,000 controlled-substance prescriptions over a one-year period.
Four undercover law enforcement agents posed as patients and were prescribed oxycodone and hydrocodone in increasing quantities by Siao.
Siao prescribed opioids to a mother and son patient despite their history of addiction and overdose.
Prosecutors are seeking to forfeit Siao's medical license and he faces sentencing on November 7.
