South Korean Family Missing After Road Trip Through Arizona Winter Storm

Authorities are investigating a possible link between the family's disappearance and a 22-vehicle pileup on Interstate 40 during severe weather.

Jiyeon Lee, 33, her mother Taehee Kim, 59, and aunt Junghee Kim, 54, were last seen traveling from the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas on March 13, 2025.
GPS data shows their rented white BMW was last located on Interstate 40 near Williams, Arizona, around the time of a 22-vehicle crash caused by hazardous winter storm conditions.
The pileup resulted in two fatalities and 16 injuries, but authorities have not confirmed whether the family was involved in the accident.
The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office conducted a three-day search of the area, including service roads and hospitals, but found no new leads.
The Republic of Korea Consulate General in Los Angeles is assisting local authorities in the ongoing investigation and search for the missing family.
