Spotify Cuts Off Subscribers Who Pay Via Apple's App Store

Spotify will no longer allow subscribers who pay through Apple's in-app purchase system to do so and is switching them to Spotify's free tier.
Apple charges a 30% commission on in-app purchases which Spotify wants to avoid paying.
Spotify stopped allowing new subscribers to pay through Apple's App Store in 2016 but existing subscribers could continue until now.
Spotify has long clashed with Apple over App Store policies and filed an anti-trust complaint against Apple with the European Commission.
Other companies like Netflix have also removed in-app subscription options from their iOS apps to bypass Apple's fees.
