Overview

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued the recall on June 4 after discovering misbranding and an undeclared fish allergen in Springville Meat products
  • Recalled items include beef, venison, buffalo and elk jerky and snack sticks produced from May 30, 2023, to May 30, 2025, bearing establishment number EST.20528
  • The allergen issue stems from a recent switch to a Worcestershire sauce containing anchovies, a known fish allergen not declared on product packaging
  • Over 15,000 pounds of affected products were shipped nationwide to retail outlets and remain under recall with no confirmed adverse reactions to date
  • Consumers are urged to check for the listed lot codes, discard or return any recalled items and consult a healthcare provider if they have concerns
