St. Louis Bar Owner Arrested Following Police SUV Crash into His Establishment

Charges Reduced from Felony to Misdemeanor After Review of Evidence; Incident Under Investigation

An SUV belonging to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department crashed into Bar:PM, a popular gay bar in St. Louis, in the early hours of Monday.
Chad Morris, co-owner of the bar, was arrested on charges of assault and resisting arrest after allegedly striking an officer 'hard in the chest with an open hand.'
Morris's partner, James Pence, also a co-owner of the bar, was handcuffed during the confrontation but was not arrested.
The assault charge against Morris was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor after prosecutors reviewed evidence.
St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones said that incidents like this can break an already fragile trust with law enforcement and confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
