Star Pitcher Sandy Alcantara Out With Biceps Tendinitis, Expected to Miss One Start

Sandy Alcantara, the Miami Marlins ace and reigning NL Cy Young winner, has biceps tendinitis and will miss his scheduled start against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday.
Devin Smeltzer will replace Alcantara in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader while Braxton Garrett remains scheduled to start Game 2.
Alcantara is expected to miss just one start and return to the rotation during the Marlins' series against the Atlanta Braves starting Monday.
Alcantara joins fellow Marlins starters Trevor Rogers and Johnny Cueto on the injury report, though the team has managed to stay above .500 so far this season despite the injuries.
So far this season, Alcantara is 1-2 with a 5.47 ERA over four starts.
