State of Florida Sends Emergency Alert in Error

The Florida Division of Emergency Management mistakenly sent an early morning emergency alert to residents across the state.
The alert was meant to be a test of the Emergency Alert System but went out to cellphones at 4:45 am.
Officials apologized for the error and are taking action to prevent future mistakes.
