Study Reveals Many Young Adults Unaware 'Stealthing' Is a Crime

Despite most viewing it as morally wrong, a significant portion of young adults are uncertain about the criminality of non-consensual condom removal.

A University College London study surveyed 1,729 UK residents aged 18-25 on their views about non-consensual condom removal, known as 'stealthing'.
The study found that while 99% of respondents considered it wrong, only 88% identified it as sexual assault.
Around half of the participants supported prison sentences for offenders, with opinions varying based on relationship context and consequences.
Men were less likely than women to view 'stealthing' as sexual assault, according to adjusted survey results.
Researchers hope the findings will inform future sexual health campaigns and legislation to better support affected individuals.
