Sun Country Flight Diverted to Texas After Hoax Threat by Children

A flight from Minneapolis to Mexico was rerouted to El Paso following a threatening note later revealed to be a prank by two young passengers.

Sun Country Airlines Flight 593, traveling from Minneapolis to Mazatlán, Mexico, made an unscheduled landing in El Paso, Texas, due to a security concern.
The diversion was caused by a threatening note found on the plane, which stated, 'You Are All Going to Die, Help Me.'
The FBI determined the note was a hoax perpetrated by two children on board the flight, and no criminal charges are being filed.
The aircraft landed safely, and all 156 passengers deplaned without incident; overnight accommodations were provided by the airline.
Authorities and the airline emphasized that the diversion was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure passenger and crew safety.
