Suspect in Custody for Fairmount Park Double Homicide

Philadelphia police have apprehended a suspect linked to the execution-style killings of two individuals in East Fairmount Park last week.

Philadelphia police announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the execution-style killings of Thurston Cooper, 49, and Krystina Chambers, 38, in East Fairmount Park.
The victims were found with gunshot wounds near the historic Mount Pleasant Mansion, which has been closed to the public since 2023.
Police released surveillance photos of the suspect, described as a stocky Black man wearing a Dallas Cowboys hat, prior to the arrest.
The double homicide occurred on February 29, with both victims shot in the head and Chambers also shot in the chest.
A $40,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
