Suspect in January Sexual Assault in Potsdam Surrenders to Police

A man accused of attacking a woman in Potsdam has turned himself in after police released surveillance images to the public.

The suspect is accused of sexually assaulting a 53-year-old woman in Potsdam on January 17, 2025.
The incident occurred after both the suspect and the victim exited a bus near the Schilfhof stop in the Schlaatz district.
The suspect allegedly attacked the woman, attempting to touch her inappropriately, but she defended herself with a knife and called for help.
Police launched a public manhunt on Monday, releasing surveillance footage from the bus to identify the suspect.
The man surrendered to the Potsdam police shortly after the images were made public, and the investigation is ongoing.
