Overview

• Suzuki Motorcycle India has laid the foundation stone for its second manufacturing plant at IMT Kharkhoda, Haryana, spanning 100 acres.
• The facility will feature 25 acres for production and an equal area dedicated to green space, emphasizing sustainability and carbon neutrality goals.
• With an initial investment of Rs 1,200 crore, the plant is projected to achieve an annual production capacity of 7.5 lakh units in its first phase.
• Operations are scheduled to commence in 2027, with the plant expected to generate employment for approximately 2,000 people.
• The foundation ceremony was attended by Suzuki executives, local government officials, and representatives from the Japanese embassy, highlighting India–Japan collaboration.
