A 37-year-old Sydney woman has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after allegedly trying to drown her daughters, aged 7 and 8, in September 2023.
Emergency services were called to Georges River in Liverpool, where the children were rescued by a passerby and taken to the hospital for assessment.
The woman was found critically injured after falling from Light Horse Bridge near the river and was hospitalized for over a year before her recent arrest.
Police allege the woman intentionally threw her daughters into the river, and a crime scene was established as part of the investigation.
The woman was denied bail and appeared in Liverpool local court following her arrest on November 27, 2024.
