Tacoma Bagel Shop Owner Killed in New Orleans

Over $224,000 Raised to Support Surviving Co-owner and Business

Jacob Carter, co-owner of Howdy Bagel in Tacoma, Washington, was shot and killed while on vacation in New Orleans.
Carter was with his husband and business partner, Daniel Blagovich, at the time of the shooting.
The couple had opened Howdy Bagel in June 2023, after starting as a farmers’ market operation.
A GoFundMe campaign has raised over $224,000 to support Blagovich and the bagel shop, covering rent, operating expenses and employee wages during its temporary closure.
No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation into Carter's death.
