Overview
- Three men were arrested for the April 28 murder of an elderly couple in Erode, with confessions linking them to a November 2024 triple murder in Tiruppur.
- The victims, Ramasamy and Bakkiyam, were killed in their farmhouse, and 10.75 sovereigns of gold jewellery were stolen.
- Police formed 12 special teams, mobilizing over 600 personnel and analyzing CCTV footage and call records to apprehend the suspects on May 17 during a vehicle check.
- A goldsmith who melted and returned the stolen jewellery to the accused was also arrested, and weapons, vehicles, and other evidence were recovered.
