Teachers Stabbed by Student in Welsh School Feared for Their Lives

Two teachers and a student were injured in an April stabbing at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, with the 14-year-old attacker denying attempted murder charges.

  • Assistant Headteacher Fiona Elias and teacher Liz Hopkin were stabbed by a 14-year-old girl during a morning break at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in Ammanford, Wales.
  • Both teachers testified that they believed they were going to die during the attack, describing the girl as having a 'sinister' and 'menacing' demeanor.
  • The attacker, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had previously been found with a knife in her possession at the beginning of the school year.
  • CCTV footage showed the girl speaking with the teachers before launching the attack, which also resulted in injuries to a student.
  • The trial continues, with the girl admitting to wounding but denying three counts of attempted murder.
