Tech Giants Back Biden's NAIRR Pilot Project to Democratize AI Research

Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, and Meta Pledge Support to Advance Inclusive AI Innovation in the U.S..

President Biden's National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) pilot project, aimed at democratizing access to AI resources, has received backing from major tech companies including Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, and Meta.
The NAIRR pilot provides U.S.-based researchers and educators with advanced AI tools and resources, fostering a more inclusive and competitive AI landscape in the United States.
The pilot is a joint venture between the National Science Foundation (NSF), 10 federal agencies, and 25 private sector, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations.
The initiative will focus on four areas: open AI research, security and privacy, software tools, and training and outreach.
Microsoft has pledged $20 million in Azure compute credits, access to leading-edge models, and resources for developing trustworthy AI as part of its commitment to the NAIRR pilot.
