Tentative Deal Reached to End Oakland Teacher Strike

Oakland Unified School District and striking teachers reached an agreement on four provisions related to housing, transportation, community schools, and historically Black schools.
The strike is still ongoing as negotiations continue on salaries, class sizes, and special education.
The strike caused 80 schools to remain open with limited attendance over two weeks.
The tentative agreement includes a pay raise for teachers and more resources for students.
The agreement will be voted on by educators and, if ratified, will end the weeklong strike.
