Tesla Issues Software Fix For 54,000 Model X Vehicles Over Brake Fluid Sensor Malfunction

Tesla is recalling over 54,000 Model X vehicles from 2021-2023 model years due to an issue where the vehicle controller may not detect low brake fluid.
The recall was initiated by NHTSA after receiving a report from Tesla on October 11, though no related crashes, injuries or deaths have been reported.
Tesla has released an over-the-air software update to address the issue and will be notifying owners by December 12.
This recall comes after NHTSA opened an investigation in August into potential loss of steering control in 280,000 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.
The software update fix allows Tesla to avoid a traditional physical recall of the vehicles to repair the issue.
