Tesla Recalls Over 46,000 Cybertrucks Due to Panel Detachment Risk

The recall, affecting vehicles built between November 2023 and February 2025, addresses a defect in adhesive joints that could cause exterior panels to detach and create road hazards.

  • Tesla is recalling 46,096 Cybertrucks in the U.S. due to a defect in the cant rail adhesive that may cause exterior panels to detach while driving.
  • The recall applies to all 2024 and 2025 model-year Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and February 27, 2025.
  • Physical repairs, including replacing the cant rail assemblies, will be conducted at Tesla service centers at no cost to owners.
  • Tesla estimates that only 1% of the recalled vehicles are likely to be affected by the defect, and no crashes, injuries, or fatalities have been reported.
  • Owners will be notified by mail starting in May 2025, and the defect is expected to be resolved in production by late March 2025.
