Tesla Required to Update Software in Over 1 Million Cars in China Due to Acceleration, Braking Issues

Tesla will deploy software updates to over 1 million vehicles in China to allow changes to braking methods and provide more warnings about accelerator pedal use.
The software updates will restore the option of switching off regenerative braking and warn drivers when they step hard on the accelerator pedal.
The recall affects vehicles produced between Jan. 12, 2019, and April 24, 2023 and covers all four of Tesla's vehicle models manufactured in China.
Tesla's revenues from China climbed to $18.2 billion last year, and the country is Tesla's most important market.
The concerned vehicles did not allow drivers to turn off regenerative braking or provide enough warnings when drivers stepped on the accelerator pedal hard.
