Tesla VIN Decoder Reveals Two Versions of 2024 Cybertruck with Different GVWRs
Details from Tesla's VIN submission indicate the 2024 Cybertruck will feature dual and triple motor configurations with variable GVWR classes, but the originally announced single-motor model is noticeably missing.
- The 2024 Tesla Cybertruck will be available in two versions, a dual motor model and a triple motor performance model, according to submissions made to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
- The classifications have been identified by Tesla's Model Year VIN decoder, with a class 'G' Cybertruck having a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) between 3629 kg to 4082 kg, and a class 'H' Cybertruck between 4082 kg to 4536 kg.
- The first Cybertruck deliveries are slated to start on November 30 at Tesla’s gigafactory in Texas, with specifications and prices of the vehicle still being kept under wraps.
- Interestingly, there is no mention of the previously announced single-motor version in the VIN decoder, throwing doubt on whether this variant will be available in the 2024 line-up.
- Assuming the Cybertruck with the higher GVWR is the performance version, it could potentially have a weight of about 6,500 pounds and a load capacity of 3,500 pounds—resulting in a GVWR of 10,000 pounds.
