Overview

  • Abbott has signed the education savings account program into law, allowing families to use public funds for private school starting in the 2026–27 school year.
  • The governor faces a June 22 deadline to sign or veto House Bill 46, which expands medical marijuana eligibility, and Senate Bill 3, which bans consumable THC products.
  • Senate Bill 8 would require sheriffs to partner with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to enforce federal immigration law if Abbott approves the measure.
