Texas Walmart Shooter Ordered to Pay $5 Million in Restitution to Victims' Families

White gunman Patrick Crusius drove over 700 miles to target Hispanic shoppers in a 2019 mass shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas.
Crusius pleaded guilty to federal hate crime charges and was sentenced to 90 consecutive life sentences.
He has agreed to pay over $5 million in restitution to the families of the 23 people killed in the attack.
It is unclear how much of the restitution the victims will actually receive due to Crusius' limited assets.
Crusius still faces trial in Texas state court, where prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
