Thane Collector’s Assistant Drowns at Harihareshwar Beach During Picnic

Pallavi Sarode, a 37-year-old assistant revenue officer, was swept away by strong waves while visiting the Raigad beach with colleagues.

Pallavi Sarode, personal assistant to the Thane district collector, drowned on March 23 during a picnic at Harihareshwar beach in Raigad.
She was swept away by a strong wave, dashed against a rock, and efforts to revive her with CPR were unsuccessful.
An accidental death report was filed by local authorities following the incident.
Sarode, known for her dedication, had served in the Thane district administration since 2012 and was promoted to assistant revenue officer in 2024.
She is survived by her husband, in-laws, and a 13-year-old son, leaving her family and colleagues mourning her loss.
