During a Q&A after the film's New York City premiere, it was revealed that Stanley Simons, who plays the youngest Von Erich brother, serenaded Efron with 'High School Musical' songs during a party scene.
The film's director, Sean Durkin, shared that the choreographed spectacle of wrestling was his window into storytelling.
The film also explores the series of personal tragedies faced by the Von Erich family, referred to as the 'Von Erich curse'.
