Three Arrested in Punjab for Murder of Shiv Sena Leader Mangat Rai

Police apprehended the suspects after a shootout and linked the crime to personal rivalry, with additional injuries reported during the incident.

Mangat Rai, district president of the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), was shot dead on Thursday night in Moga, Punjab, while buying groceries.
A 12-year-old boy was injured during the attack when a bullet missed the intended target and struck him instead.
The three suspects, identified as Arun Kumar Singh, Arun alias Deepu, and Rajvir Singh, were arrested following a shootout with police near Malout in Muktsar district.
Police stated the motive behind the murder appears to be personal enmity, although the victim's family denies any known disputes.
The suspects had posted a video on Instagram claiming responsibility for the killing, accusing Rai of threats and extortion.
