Three Convicted for Attempted Murder of £54m Securitas Robber

Louis Ahearne, Stewart Ahearne, and Daniel Kelly found guilty of plotting to kill Paul Allen, whose criminal history includes Britain’s largest cash robbery.

  • Paul Allen, a former cage fighter and participant in the £54 million Securitas robbery, was paralyzed in a 2019 shooting at his London home.
  • The defendants meticulously planned the attack, using surveillance and a tracker on Allen’s car, and fired six shots into his home, striking him in the neck.
  • DNA and ballistic evidence linked the defendants to the crime, including bullet casings matched to a Glock handgun found at Daniel Kelly's address.
  • The men were also involved in a 2019 burglary at a Swiss museum, stealing Ming dynasty antiques worth over £2.78 million and attempting to sell them in Hong Kong and London.
  • Extradited from Switzerland, the defendants were convicted at the Old Bailey and are awaiting sentencing on April 25, 2025.
