Three Russian Nationals Arrested in New York for Illegally Shipping $10 Million Worth of US Technology to Russia

Illegally exported electronics found in Russian weapons used in Ukraine; the suspects had worked with sanctioned Russian entities, used aliases and front companies, and rerouted cargo to avoid detection.

  • Three Russian nationals, Nikolay Goltsev, Salimdzhon Nasriddinov, and Kristina Puzyreva, have been arrested in New York for allegedly illegally shipping $10 million worth of US technology to Russia. The tech was later found in Russian weapons used in Ukraine.
  • The trio have been charged with wire fraud, smuggling, and conspiracy to violate the Export Control Reform Act. They made around 300 shipments through front companies SH Brothers Inc. and SN Electronics Inc.
  • These electronic components, which included semiconductors, integrated circuits, and other electronics, have both civilian and military uses. Some of these components have been found in seized Russian weapons platforms and signals intelligence equipment in Ukraine.
  • According to prosecutors, Goltsev received orders from Russian entities who sought to acquire specific items from the US. Afterwards, Goltsev and Nasriddinov purchased the items from US manufacturers, and they then arranged for the items to be shipped abroad where they were rerouted to Russia.
  • Companies receiving these goods included Radioavtomtika, a Moscow defense procurement firm, and other Russian entities that are on the US's specially designated nationals list that bars them from doing business in or with the US.
